Ted is the first male dog that I have bred and kept. He is definitely my 'dog in a million'. Wherever I go he is never far behind me. Ted showed true potential from early on - he has a fantastic temperament, being so biddable and extremely keen to please, he has been such a pleasure to train. 2021
Ted and I have had a fantastic start to the 2021 season. He was awarded Gun's Choice at his first 2 day Open Trial at Bolton Abbey with the Yorkshire Gundog Club in August. He the won his second 2 day Open - the Barton on Humber Gundog Club 2 day Open in September. This also qualifies him for the 2021 IGL Retriever Championship in December.
2020
Ted gained third place in his first and only 1 day Open Field Trial this season.
20 19
We had to wait until November 2019 until we were able to get another opportunity to run in a Novice Trial. This time the weather was extreme. To get there we had to drive through snow and sleet. the snow eased off by the time the trial started but it did rain torrentially all day. The Trial completed with two dogs remaining. I was pleased when the FT secretary of The North Devon Working Gundog Club announced Ted and I as the winners.
September 2019 we were lucky enough to get a run in his first trial host by The Bristol and West Working Gundog Society.
The conditions were difficult with very little scent all day. Three dogs finished the trial and we were awarded third place
In August 2019 I competed with Ted in his first Novice Working Test and won. He only dropped one point over the test
I entered Ted in his first and only puppy test and gained third place
